How To Grow A New Franchise Company
There are over 3,000 franchise brands in the United States yet 55% have 50 units or less. This is a large number of franchises, considering that some have been franchising for 10 to 20 years. Defined by those in the industry as emerging franchises, many of these systems faced challenges from the very beginning of their franchise. Although more small businesses franchise each year there continues to be a certain number of these companies that experience slow growth. The reasons for their slow growth are varied but typically include:
- A lack of adequate working capital
- Limited franchise industry knowledge
- Weak franchisor staff
- Franchise program is flawed
- Franchisees are not meeting their financial goals
